Summer ending, school starting, space shifting, time warping, opportunity is afoot starting this Friday. Check it all out below and be in the know of the now on the dance floor.

Night Waves News

Night Waves has moved to the Joffrey’s brand new, big as we’ve wished for, Studio 6 on the 5th Floor at 434 6th Ave. (near 10th St.).  We practiced creating space in Studio 3 for 5 years.  We’ve manifested that empty space upstairs in Studio 6 and hope to be finding it there for many years to come.

Night Waves class time changes as of this Friday, Sept. 3  to 7.30-9.30PM and prices are also changing.  Our studio rental cost has tripled and so for the first time in a decade I must raise the class price.  The new Night Waves prices are:
$20 – Full Price
$15 – Students
$150 – Class cards (10 Classes, good for use at my regular NYC Friday night class, and Thursday morning class)

Night Waves, Sept. 17 – Special 3 Hour Class

The cost for the Friday, Sept. 17 class is $25, $20 for class card holders and students.  Join us for the evening and experience the 5Rhythms® at this historic location.  Registration and pre-payment is suggested.

Waves: From Start to Starting Over
Waves is the foundational map of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms® movement meditation practice.  It’s the map that first sets us free to explore our life-long dances of moving and being moved. We come to the Wave to be held, heartened, informed, lightened and inspired by and through our personal and collective creativity. We keep coming back to the Wave to realign body, heart and mind, to remember to move body and soul, and to reconnect body to spirit, flesh to breath, 5Rhythms at a time.  Come start or start over; a weekend respite on the dance floor, to begin, ignite, and re-kindle our love affair with the Wave.

Heartbeat: A Journey to the Heartland

Gabrielle Roth’s Heartbeat map teaches us to move more freely with our emotions. Instead of denying them, resisting them, or persisting with them we learn to move with them and through them into a fuller expression of them. The 5Rhythms practice gives us a language to speak with our bodies; the Heartbeat practice leads us to move with the shape, breath and locomotion of our emotions. We all have dances that hold us back, tighten us up, tie us down, and keep us from moving with joy. In Heartbeat we practice releasing those dances, moving forward, loosening up, shaking free, lightening up. Let’s join together on the dance floor and find our way home to the heart one step at a time.
